— -- LSU running back Leonard Fournette?will try to play in Saturday's game against Florida, ESPN's Kaylee Hartung reported.

Earlier reports indicated Fournette would not be available.

But prior to the game?Fournette went to LSU coach Ed Orgeron and said he wanted to try and play. Fournette is dressed and on the field.

Fournette has rushed for 803 rushing yards on 121 carries with 8 touchdowns this season despite having missed three games because of an ankle injury. He rushed for a career-high 284 yards on Oct. 22 against Ole Miss.

Fournette's backup is sophomore? Derrius Guice who ran for 252 yards and a pair of touchdowns against Arkansas last week.

During warm-ups Fournette was involved in a skirmish and shoved a Florida defensive backs coach Torrian Gray, according to the AJC.

Saturday's contest is a makeup from the originally scheduled Oct. 8 game in Gainesville that was postponed due to Hurricane Matthew.

The game was moved to Baton Rouge as part of the agreement to reschedule, which was a contentious negotiation that included multiple threats to cancel the matchup.
