— -- Louisville freshman Shaqquan Aaron has been suspended for the first nine games due to receiving extra benefits, and will be eligible to play his first game on Dec. 20.

The school made an announcement on Tuesday afternoon.

It was determined that Aaron's family received extra benefits related to housing. He will miss the first nine games - 30 percent of the season - and will have to repay the amount and also perform community service.

The 6-foot-7 freshman from Seattle, who was ranked 33rd in the country by ESPN.com, has already missed the first seven games. He will sit out Tuesday night's game against Indiana and Sunday's home game against UNC Wilmington before being eligible to face Western Kentucky on Dec. 20.
