Viral Vault: Don Mattingly loves popcorn

— -- Sometimes, when athletes are hungry in the middle of a game, they have to refuel.

Remember when NFL QB? Mark Sanchez?failed to hide that he was? eating a hot dog??And what about when Don Mattingly played for the New York Yankees back in 1992?

Not only did he hit .288 with 86 RBIs and 14 home runs, but he batted 1.000 when it came to stealing popcorn from an unsuspecting fan.

Mattingly won a Gold Glove that year, too. Which isn't very surprising when you see how quickly he snatched up that popcorn.

Once Mattingly was done as a player, he joined the Yankees as a special instructor until 2003, when he was named hitting coach. He later became the hitting coach for the Los Angeles Dodgers until he was named manager in 2011. After the 2015 season, he signed a deal to become the manager of the Miami Marlins.

No word on if he's still swiping snacks.?
