— -- Just days after it started appearing in user accounts in the U.S., Facebook today announced it rolled out its new App Center portal to all users from English-speaking countries.

The company is also launching a new translation tool to help expand the number of apps submitted from around the world.

As of today, App Center is live in the United States, Australia, Canada, India, Ireland, New Zealand, South Africa, and the United Kingdom, available from both desktop, smartphone and tablet devices.

The app marketplace will come to users in Brazil, France, Germany, Russia, Spain, Taiwan, and Turkey in the coming weeks, but for developers to have them available in those countries, they will have to submit their apps by July 13, 2012.

Recognizing that 80% of its users hail from outside the U.S. and Canada, Facebook today began accepting submissions from developers with localized apps for the App Center. The company provides tools for developers, making it easier to create apps that can be enjoyed all over the world.

A new Localize tab has been added to the App Dashboard, where translations of an app's information (name, tagline, and descriptions) can be inputted for use across Facebook.

There are countless thousands of applications available on Facebook, with the App Center hoping to make navigating and utilising them a little easier. There are timeline, mobile and web app categories as well as divisions for games, travel, sport, music and news among other activities.

The company says that App Center traffic "produces better than average revenue per user for its games," with War Commander and Battle Pirates seeing significant increases in users. Disney's Marvel: Avengers Alliance is also seeing a lot more users, with Facebook gamers said to be the most engaged.
