NASA released a stunning image today showing the International Space Station as it crossed in front of the sun at a speed of five miles per second. The photo is a composite made of five frames and was taken on Sunday from Shenandoah National Park, Front Royal, Virginia, according to NASA.

The space agency released another striking image last month -- showing the International Space Station as it was dwarfed by the moon. Nine astronauts are currently living at the space outpost, including American Scott Kelly, who is in the middle of completing a history-making one-year stint in space as part of an experiment to compare his physiology with that of his twin astronaut brother Mark Kelly, who remained on Earth.
