TechBytes: Local Walmart Stores Get Custom Facebook Pages

Oct. 11, 2011— -- In today's TechBytes, friending Walmart.

The world's largest retailer now has individual pages for more than 3,500 stores.

That will allow Walmart to tailor its offers to specific communities.

Facebook iPad App

Speaking of Facebook, there's now an official app for the iPad.

Users have been making do with third-party programs and wondering what the delay was.

There's still no app specifically tailored for Android tablets.

Jetpack Joyride

The new iPad game Jetpack Joyride from the creators of "Fruit Ninja" follows the adventures of hero Barry Steakfries after he breaks into a lab and steals some experimental jetpacks.

CNET's Dan Ackerman gives the game high marks.

"Jetpack Joyride hits those key things that an iPad game needs to be successful. It's cartoony, it's fun, it's easy to play. But it has a lot of challenge, so even after you master the basics you can just keep going for days and weeks trying to beat your best score," says Ackerman.
