Lucky Dog 'Wins' $3 Million Lottery in Florida
Bill Kelly bought his dog a lottery ticket for his Christmas stocking.
— -- One Florida pup is the lucky "winner" of $3 million after his owner bought him his own scratch-off ticket for Christmas.
Bill Kelly, 58, took home the $3 million prize for a ticket he had actually bought for his dog. Kelly said in a statement he bought three scratch-off tickets as stocking stuffers for his family.
The winning ticket just happened to be in the stocking for the family dog.
"Giving Florida Lottery Scratch-Off tickets as Christmas gifts is one of my holiday traditions," Kelly, of Ocoee, Florida, said in a statement. "I always hope to at least win my money back and I play to win, but I never expected this."
Kelly took the money as a lump sum of $2,351,433.02. No word on how many doggie treats that sum might buy.
