1. Needles Found in Sandwiches Aboard Flight
Delta Air Lines and the FBI are looking into how needles got inside turkey sandwiches that were served onboard four flights from Amsterdam. Some passengers in business class found what appeared to be sewing needles in five sandwiches on Sunday. One passenger was injured.

2. Pilot's Eye Injured by Laser
A JetBlue pilot suffered a minor eye injury on Sunday after a green laser shone through the windshield of the plane. The plane was flying to New York's JFK Airport from Syracuse when the incident occurred. The plane landed without incident.

3. Miners Rescued After Fire
Twenty-eight miners have been rescued from a gold mine in New Zealand after a fire trapped the men underground for up to seven hours. A mine spokesman said that one men was being checked for possible smoke inhalation but that the rest of the men are fine.

4. Girl, 7, Caught by Neighbor After 3-Story Fall
A 7-year-old girl who fell from a third story window in Brooklyn, NY escaped without injury after a neighbor caught her. The girl had crawled out through an empty space next to the air conditioner in her family's apartment and lost her balance.

5. Gas Prices Rising
According to the Department of Energy, the average price of a gallon of regular gas is $3.43, up nearly 2 cents from a week ago. This cost is 26 cents lower than a year ago.
