40th Earth Day: What Do You Do to Save the Planet?

April 22, 2010— -- Earth Day began 40 years ago as a way to bring awareness to the problems facing the planet. The international event has since brought attention to air and water pollution, the ozone hole, the threat of climate change and more.

While Earth Day calls on governments to cooperate in taking on environmental problems, it can also have an impact on individuals. At schools across the country today, students will learn about the importance of conservation as people try to go green in their daily lives by reducing waste, recycling and changing their behavior.

So, our question to you on this Earth Day: What do you do to help the planet?
