— -- Costumes, candy and shrieks...of joy! Kelly Rowland and Silento may have just hosted one of the best Halloween bashes of 2015. The two joined forces with M&M Mars to give away thousands of costumes and candy to some very lucky New Jersey kids. Rowland told ABC News that Halloween has always been one of her favorite holidays.

“When I first moved to Texas, I really got into the whole spirit of Halloween,” said Rowland. “My mom and her boss dressed me up as a cowgirl. We got the boots, the hat, they put a little denim shirt on me and kind of tied it up. I had the big skirt. It also looked as if I was going to a hoedown. They also stuffed my bra, a bra that I couldn’t fit at the time and I looked like a black Dolly Parton."

Rowland happily worked the massive crowd on hand at the John F. Kennedy Recreation center in New Jersey like a politician, posing for selfies and cuddled babies. Her son Titan will celebrate his first Halloween this year.

“I am Minnie Mouse. He is Mickey Mouse,” Rowland said. “He actually has two to choose from. He’s going to be either a skunk (or Mickey) and I may put a little bow tie on him and that way he’ll be Pepe Le Pew. But yeah, so far we’re kind of focused on Disney right now.”

Silento’s appearance at the event came as a big surprise for just about everyone. It was kept a secret to add to the excitement of the day. Silento, who is best known for his big viral hit “Watch Me (Whip/Nae Nae)," said his surprise appearance was something he "wanted to do for the kids."

He admitted that he's still working on his Halloween costume.

“I’m still trying to figure out who I want to be,” Silento said. “My manager said I should be like a dead person. But I wanted to be classic man.”

Many of the families in attendance first stopped by the M&M’S Pop-up costume shop, which was giving away costumes to families in the area for free.

"Halloween is all about fun – and what better way to celebrate than to bring fun and excitement to Newark, New Jersey, the birthplace of M&M'S!” said Ampy Vasquez, a publicist for M&M’s Mars. “We were thrilled to partner with Kelly Rowland and Silento to help bring the community of Newark together for Halloween."
