Police are investigating a suspicious package that was delivered to the home of Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky.

Sen. Rand Paul claimed he was "attacked by an angry mob" early Friday morning in Washington, D.C., while walking with his wife from the White House.

Paul: “This man had threatened to kill me and chop up my family with an ax."

The man who attacked U.S. Senator Rand Paul at his home in Kentucky pleaded guilty Friday morning in federal court.

The Kentucky senator described the November 2017 encounter with his neighbor.

"Assaulting a member of Congress is an offense we take very seriously."

The alleged assailant – Rene Boucher – was arrested by Kentucky State Police.

Paul said his doctor's report shows six broken ribs and a "pleural effusion."

The alleged attack left the senator with six broken ribs.

Paul also slammed John Bolton, a contender for deputy secretary of state.
