Mindy Kaling Is Invisible Comedic Force in First Super Bowl Ad

Forget the ad, look at the teaser.

“My writers and I had so much fun brainstorming ideas for this ad because it was all about wish fulfillment," she said, like walking through a car wash.

The commercial was directed by Doug Liman, best known for the "Bourne" film series, "Edge of Tomorrow" and "Swingers."

“All of us, even beautiful, young Hollywood celebrities like me, have been in situations where we feel invisible," she said. Spoiler alert: the point of the ad is that Nationwide doesn't make members feel invisible.

The spot, Nationwide’s first Super Bowl commercial since 2007, debuts during the second quarter of this year's game.
