1st trailer for the female-led 'Ocean's 8' released

— -- This time it's Debbie Ocean — not Danny Ocean — who is planning the heist in the just-released trailer for "Ocean's 8."

The caper: Steal a necklace worth $150 million from the neck of Daphne Kluger, played by Anne Hathaway, at New York's Met Gala.

Sandra Bullock stars as Debbie, who is apparently the estranged sister of Danny Ocean, the character played by George Clooney in the first three movies. Debbie has just been released from prison when she hooks up with Cate Blanchett's Lou to plan the crime and recruit the crew. The star-studded cast includes Mindy Kaling as a jewelry forger, Rihanna as a computer hacker and Helena Bonham Carter as a fashion designer, as well as Sarah Paulson and Awkwafina. An unspecified eighth conspirator also plays a role. Could it be Hathaway's Kluger?

Danny Ocean has a cameo in the trailer, with his name appearing on a slab of marble in a mausoleum as Debbie sits in front of it, sipping a martini. According to the slab, he died in 2018. Or did he?

Previously, Bullock told Entertainment Weekly that the dynamic on set was "so great" and that the cast "bonded pretty quickly out of necessity and just because we like each other."

"We all were able to fit in this trailer while we were getting fluffed and folded and share information: 'I don’t know how to do this, where did you do this?' 'Oh, my God, my son needs a uniform.' 'Oh, my God, I have this great website.' 'What do you do in this work situation?' 'How are you internet managing?' For the first time in my life, I felt there was a sharing of all this information," she told "Entertainment Weekly."

"We all looked at each other and went, 'Why didn’t we know these things before?' I realized as women, we have been isolated for a while. I don’t even want to touch on that other subject, but women are now taking care of each other," Bullock added. "We all were like, 'OK, let’s just take care of each other for these six months and relish this opportunity we’re being given.'"

She explained, "But we don’t want it to be just for women. This is not a man-hating. We love the men. There’s men in this movie. We love them. But this one heist needs women."

"Ocean's 8," also starring Richard Armitage and James Corden, opens June 8.
