Amber Heard Opens Up About Being Bisexual and Marriage to Johnny Depp

The actress and Johnny Depp's wife doesn't want to be "defined by sexuality."

The "Magic Mike" actor, who tied the knot with the famed actor in February, has been acting since the mid-2000's and has several movies out this year including "The Danish Girl" opposite Oscar winner Eddie Redmayne.

"I don’t want to have to deny my sexuality in order to be me," she told the Times of London. "But I don’t want to have to be defined by it. I’m fundamentally opposed to trying to edit myself to be palatable or popular. I don’t give a f***. I fight, but I shouldn’t have to.”

Heard added that "I never thought I would get married. But I’ve always loved who I’ve loved."

She also opened up about being an activist and being married to one of the most famous men on the planet.

"I’ve never let anyone else decide that for me, the [gay] community as much as mainstream society," she said, speaking about love. "The ironic thing is that’s what we’re fighting for: to not have your preferences mediated by others’ prejudices. In 32 US states you can still be fired just for being bisexual. I don’t know how a country full of the descendants of free-spirited people can [support] the government dictating aspects of our private lives.”

About her high-profile relationship, Heard said, "It’s been a steady rise in exposure, pressure and accountability over the years. It ebbs and flows. It’s life on the run. I always wanted to be a vagabond. I’m a gypsy now, living out of a suitcase, constantly on the road. I like the travel, but I don’t like to fight to have anonymity."

As for any split rumors, she fires back, "I don’t care. I’m a happily married woman.”

"Magic Mike XXL" hits theaters on July 3.
