The Best Relationship Advice from Our Favorite Celebrity Couples
If you're in love and want to stay in love, take advice from these celebs.
-- Even the happiest relationships can sometimes feel like a frustrating scene in a romantic comedy or a tear-inducing ballad.
Actors who often portray those scenes onscreen and musicians who sing those soulful songs are also trying to figure out how to manage and maintain their real-life relationships.
If you're in a relationship, or looking for one, here's some solid advice from a few of our favorite celebrity couples who have mastered the art of staying together.
Channing Tatum on wife Jenna Dewan-Tatum
"I think communication and being brutally honest about the things that you want -- what you fantasize about, or whatever. No matter what, talk to each other. That stuff you might be nervous to hear? You gotta want to know," the actor told Elle magazine in 2013.
"Jenna and I have a trick we use to check in with each other. We say, 'On a scale of 1 to 10, how much do you love me right now?' It's not as romantic as you think. Sometimes it's like, 'I love you at a six right now. I have an issue, and you asked. So now I'm going to tell you.'"
Beyonce on husband Jay Z
"We have been together since I was 20 years old. We took our time and developed an unbreakable friendship before we got married. But, like anything great and successful in your life, marriage takes hard work and sacrifice. It has to be something both you and your husband deeply want," she told Harper's Bazaar in 2011.
"The best thing about marriage is the amount of growth you have because you can no longer hide from your fears and insecurities. There's someone right there calling you out on your flaws and building you up when you need the support. If you are with the right person, it brings out the best version of you."
Neil Patrick Harris on husband David Burtka
"I think you have to find new elements that turn you on," he told Glamour magazine in 2014. "Having kids was one of those great moments for me. Watching David become another level of person, mastering this other domain, made me look at him with a whole other set of appreciative eyes."
"That sort of made me re-fall in love with him. That's another important thing to realize. Everyone falls out of love with everything. You fall out of love with your house. You fall out of love with your job. You just have to figure out ways to keep [the love] alive."
Goldie Hawn on partner Kurt Russell
"In relationships, particularly love relationships, people are impatient. They don't listen," she told People magazine last year.
"We don't have a perfect relationship. Sometimes I get mad and sometimes Kurt gets mad. It's normal. Continuing to listen and grow is important because we get into bad habits in relationships. We're cognizant of these things in our relationships, being mindful and caring and listening."
Chrissy Teigen on husband John Legend
"We're by no means freaky-deaky, but let's just say, we're open to things," she told Cosmopolitan magazine in 2014. "We're very okay with PDA...I would love to see more husbands and wives making out!"
