Chris Harrison Shares Why 'Bachelorette' Andi Will Surprise You
Chris Harrison reveals who else could have landed the position.
March 12, 2014 -- When it was announced that Andi Dorfman would be the new star of "The Bachelorette," fans were split on whether she'd be a good fit.
Host Chris Harrison assures critics not to worry: she will be.
"She'll be great," he told ABC News. "I like Andi a lot. She jumped off the page because she's so bright and such a professional woman."
Chris Harrison Weighs in on His Confrontation With Juan Pablo
Harrison said she reminds him of former "Bachelor" star Sean Lowe, who spoke out in defense of Harrison after Monday's disastrous "After the Final Rose" show.
"When Sean came off of Emily [Maynard]'s season, people didn't know him to be the fun-loving jokester that he is. They saw a different guy on Emily's season because you didn't get to see him that much and I feel like Andi's the same way," he said. "People see her as a tough woman who cross-examined Juan Pablo, but there's a soft, sweet, really funny vulnerable side that will make her a great Bachelorette."
'Bachelor' Juan Pablo Finally Breaks His Silence
Harrison said that she was "a pretty easy choice," but a few other former "Bachelor" contestants would have been good options, too. He said Renee Oteri would have been "awesome," but of course she recently got engaged to someone else.
"I do think Sharleen [Joynt] would've been intriguing as well," he added. "Even Clare [Crawley] would've been a great option!"
