The actress also revealed the baby's gender in a new interview.
Jan. 7, 2014 -- Talk about supportive exes!
Courteney Cox sat down with Ellen DeGeneres recently to discuss life with her 9-year-old daughter Coco, and during the chat, she said that learning that her ex-husband, David Arquette, was expecting a baby with his new girlfriend Christina McLarty, was a bit of a shock.
"At first I was nervous," she admitted. "I was like, 'Ooh, this is heavy.' ... [Now] it's great."
Their daughter Coco felt the same way, she added.
"It's a big deal!" Cox, 49, explained. "[But now] she's really excited."

Cox and Arquette, 42, were married for more than a decade before they split in 2010. He was first linked with McLarty in 2012, and "Cougartown" actress Cox is dating Ed Sheeran's roommate, Johnny McDaid.
However, it's clear she's still quite close with Arquette, and even revealed his baby's gender: "They're going to have a little boy," she said. "I hope I'm allowed to say that!"
"We actually all had dinner the other night -- the whole family," she added. "It's a very unique relationship. All of us, literally: me and Christina and David and Coco. It's great."

And while the whole family may be coming together in anticipation of the new baby, Cox said that Coco is still very much a mama's girl.
"She's a little bit of a tick! I mean, she is on me," she said. "I went on this mother/daughter day with her and I took her to a spa... [and then] I took her to Maestro's for dinner, just the two of us, a very romantic dinner. We just sat there and held hands and talked."
