Gwyneth Paltrow and 6 More Celebrity Moms With Weird Habits

Sept. 19, 2012 — -- intro: From the moment she named her daughter Apple, it was clear Gwyneth Paltrow was not going to follow convention. In an interview with the October edition of InStyle magazine, the Oscar-winning actress revealed that she won't let Apple or her brother Moses watch TV in English.

"Oh hold on. My daughter is asking me a question," Paltrow said midway through the interview. "She's cross because I only let them watch TV in French or Spanish."

English cartoons won't do, either.

"When I'm in France, I go to [Boulevard] Beaumarchais and buy all their cartoons," she said.

Her unique style of parenting extends beyond her choices in children's entertainment. On her weekly advice newsletter/website GOOP and in her cookbook "My Father's Daughter," Paltrow waxes poetically about Apple, 8, and son Moses, 6. "Oh, how my heart leaps when I see them munching down kale with brown rice," she wrote in the cookbook about their favorite dish. She also revealed to Harper's Bazaar that they "all get into the tub together" whenever she's home.

Everyone thinks there's some kind of sexual impropriety going on when it's actually just connection and intimacy and nurturance."

Morissette, 38, who is married to rapper Mario "Souleye" Treadway, first raised eyebrows over the summer when she announced that she would breastfeed Ever, now 20 months, until he was ready to stop. media:
