Why Hugh Jackman Went 'Commando' While Filming 'X-Men: Days of Future Past'
There was a bright green sock involved on set of "X-Men: Days of Future Past."
May 21, 2014 -- Hugh Jackman is not afraid to show off some skin, especially when he's been hitting the gym to transform into Wolverine for "X-Men: Days of Future Past."
On one of his nude scenes, Jackman said on "Live with Kelly & Michael," "It wasn't written as a nude scene."
"The scene has Wolverine, because the whole premise of the movie is it has Wolverine traveling back in time to prevent something cataclysmic happening in the future," he said. "So I land back in 1973. I wake up -- this is what the script says -- wake up next to a girl who I don't remember, and I get out of bed wearing boxer shorts."
He added, "I don't know about America, but in Australia, if you are next to a really good looking girl, you're not getting out with boxer shorts on or briefs, or anything!"

So, Jackman decided to change the scene up.
"So, yeah, I went commando and we just went for it," he said.
"Live" co-host Michael Strahan wanted to know what he does to cover up his private parts during filming.
"There's a sock," he said. "They brought a bright green sock for me to wear and I was like, 'This is kind of drawing more attention than less.' And they said, 'No, no, no we need bright green like a green screen, so if you bend over, if you turn around, we need to erase it.'"

So, Jackman happily put on the sock.
"By the end of the first take, I was like, 'Yep, it's gone, I don't know where it is,'" he said. "So, yeah commando."
Then Kelly Ripa joked about the sock, saying, "It was more of a leg warmer, wouldn't you say?"
