Khloe Kardashian and Family Release Statement on Lamar Odom
Khloe, Kim, Kendall and others took to their websites with a message.
-- Khloe Kardashian and some of her family - Kim, Kendall, Kylie and Kourtney - have taken to their websites to release a statement about Lamar Odom as he fights for his life in a Nevada hospital.
"As a family we've decided to hold off on publishing content across our apps while we continue to support and pray for Lamar," the statement read Thursday night. "Thank you for your kindness and understanding during this difficult time."
The Rev. Jesse Jackson added earlier in the week that after visiting the basketball star at the hospital, Khloe, Odom's estranged wife, is by his side and friends like Kobe Bryant have also visited.
Odom, 35, was found unconscious at The Love Ranch, a legal brothel in Crystal, Nevada, Tuesday and has since been hospitalized in Las Vegas for further treatment.
In addition to the recent message on the websites, many members of the family have taken to social media to ask for prayers for the two-time NBA champion.
"Please pray for Lamar #ourfighter," Kris Jenner wrote on Instagram Wednesday night, along with a picture from the former NBA star's glory days with the L.A. Lakers.
Odom's close friend Rob Kardashian also took to social media to say, "Praying nonstop for my Brother !!" and Kourtney Kardashian posted a sweet throwback of Lamar and her son Mason. "Believing in the power of prayer for this beautiful soul."
Meanwhile, Odom's aunt JaNean Mercer said, "No words can express the overwhelming gratitude we feel for the outpouring of support from around the world. Please continue to keep in your prayers, our family and Lamar, whom we deeply love, admire and cherish. His complete healing is paramount and our primary focus. Please respect our privacy as we continue to lean on GOD and trust in Him during this extremely difficult time."
Odom and Kardashian were married in 2009, but divorce papers were filed in late 2013, which were signed by both parties earlier this year.
