Kid Rock Mourns Death of His Assistant in ATV Accident
Singer mourns the death of Mike Sacha, who died in an accident on his property.
— -- Kid Rock is "beyond devastated" by the loss of his personal assistant who died in an ATV accident on the singer's property in Nashville.
The singer discovered the body of his assistant, Michael Sacha, 30, Monday morning on an embankment, according to the Metro Nashville Police Department.
In a news release, police say the accident happened after Sacha drove two people down the driveway to meet an Uber driver at midnight. Sacha crashed while riding the ATV back to the residence.
Rock, whose real name is Robert Ritchie, and a friend found Sacha on an embankment late Monday morning and immediately telephoned for help. Police tweeted Monday that the death has been classified as accidental.

A family member described Sacha as a “hell of an athlete” who had many different friends.
"He had a larger than life personality and impressed every single person that he met," the family member told ABC News. “Mike was more than just an employee; he was a true friend and a genuine person that really blew everyone out of the park.... There’s not a single person who did not like Mike. Everyone he met, he really captivated their hearts.”
For Rock's part, he expressed his grief over the loss on his website.
"I am beyond devastated to report that my personal assistant Mike Sacha passed away today in an ATV accident here in Nashville. He was a member of our family and one of the greatest young men I have ever had the pleasure to not only work with, but also to become friends with," he wrote. "I know I speak for us all in sharing my deepest condolences to his family. I cannot imagine how they must feel."
Rock went on to say that his entire band, friends and co-workers were "devastated" by Sacha's death and that instead of traveling with the group he was going to stay behind.
"I am going to stay here with Mike until I can bring him home to his family," the rocker wrote.
He concluded with, "RIP Mike. We will never forget you, my friend."
