Kim Kardashian Told Third Pregnancy May Not Be Safe

— -- Kim Kardashian West is ready to expand her family, but two of her doctors have advised her against carrying a third child.

The reality star, 36, who experienced complications with her two previous pregnancies with 3-year-old daughter North and 11-month-old son Saint, revealed on Sunday's episode of "Keeping Up With the Kardashians" that she is seriously considering using a surrogate.

During the episode, Kardashian West and her mother Kris Jenner pay a visit to her doctor to find out what health risks she might face if she has a third child.

"You never know if you might have the same type of problem that could be more serious this time," her doctor told her. "You’re always taking a little bit of a chance. There are situations where retained placenta could be life or death."

"You could bleed to death," her mother chimed in.

Kardashian West seeks out a second opinion from a fertility specialist, who suggests she consider surrogacy.

"Using a surrogate is not an unreasonable option," the specialist told Kardashian West. "If our goal is to grow your family like you want to, then a surrogate makes sense."

Later, in her interview, Kardashian West said, "If the two doctors that I trust have told me it wouldn’t be safe for me to get pregnant again, I have to listen to that. But because I don’t know anyone that has been a surrogate or used one, I didn’t really think about that as an option for me."

So the star decides to do some research by meeting with Natalie, a mother of two, who had one of her children via surrogate.

"My bond with my kids is so strong," Kardashian West told the mom. "I think my biggest fear is that if I had a surrogate is, would I love them the same? That’s the main thing I keep thinking about."

Natalie reassured Kardashian West, "There’s not a day where I have any thought that my love for my kids are different, that my connection to my kids is different. You get to carry one and have them close to you, but then the other is because you so desperately wanted them in your family."

After her meeting, Kardashian West tells her mom she's decided she can't carry another child and is ready to explore surrogacy

"That scares me for you," her mother said. "What if she gives birth and then grabs the baby and makes a run for it?"

"I don’t think she can," Kardashian West responded. "Also, the best thing, I could have a new baby and have no one know and live my life for a good year before we announce it."

In the end, Kardashian West was still undecided. "But I don't know if it's for me," she said. "I really don't know."
