Lady Gaga reveals fibromyalgia battle
The singer's struggle with chronic pain is part of her documentary.
-- Lady Gaga is opening up about her chronic pain.
The singer will be giving viewers an inside look at her health struggles in the Netflix documentary "Gaga: Five Foot Two," which comes out September 22.
But in a Twitter post Tuesday, the singer confirmed she suffers from fibromyalgia.
“In our documentary the #chronicillness #chronicpain I deal w/ is #Fibromyalgia,” she wrote. “I wish to help raise awareness & connect people who have it.”
According to the Mayo Clinic, fibromyalgia is a disorder that causes muscle pain and tenderness, as well as fatigue, memory and mood issues. Symptoms can sometimes begin after physical trauma or significant psychological stress.
Gaga has also been open about her battle with post-traumatic stress disorder, which she last year revealed she began experiencing after she suffered an injury while on tour.
