In Hollywood, as in life, a new relationship doesn't always wipe out the residue of past exes. That's what Vanessa Minnillo is learning as she settles into married life with Nick Lachey at the same time that his ex-wife, Jessica Simpson, prepares to walk down the aisle again.
Click through to see how Minnillo's coping with that situation and check out more famous couples toting around their relationship baggage.
quicklist: 1title: Vanessa Minnillo, Nick Lachey ... and Jessica Simpsontext: Though Lachey and Simpson divorced five years ago, her specter hangs over his new marriage. In a clip from TLC's "Nick & Vanessa's Dream Wedding," which premiered July 30, 2011, Minnillo admitted that comparisons between her wedding and Simpson's 2002 nuptials to Lachey are inevitable.
"To address the elephant in the room: Yes, coincidentally at the same time our wedding is going, his ex is actually also doing the beautiful thing of getting married herself," she said.
Last year, Simpson announced her plans to marry NFL player Eric Johnson just days after Minnillo and Lachey declared their engagement. But Minnillo and Lachey are focusing on moving forward. This week, Lachey told E! Online that he's "doing everything I can" to start a family with Minnillo, something he and Simpson never got around to doing.

quicklist: 2title: Tom Brady, Gisele Bundchen ... and Bridget Moynahantext: Family reunions with the woman who had one of your children and your wife who had the other kid might seem awkward. But somehow, Brady, Bundchen and Moynahan make it work.
Moynahan gave birth to Brady's son, John, in 2007. She was with the New England Patriots quarterback for three years before they broke up and she announced her pregnancy.
Bundchen, Brady's wife, gave birth to their son, Benjamin, in 2009. In an interview for the February issue of More magazine, Moynahan asserted the family dynamic is free of drama.
"I have a relationship with these people on a daily basis," she said. "I'm raising a child, and it's public. The media creates these dramas, and that's not what's happening in my life."
In 2009, Bundchen said that she considers John, now 4, to be one of her own.
"I love him the same way as if he were mine," the supermodel told Vanity Fair. "I already feel like he's my son, from the first day."

quicklist: 2title: Kim Kardashian, Kris Humphries ... and Reggie Bushtext: What, you didn't know that Kim K. was getting married? Have you been living under a rock? Every day, it seems, the reality TV star reveals another detail about her Aug. 20 wedding to NBA baller Humphries. The latest: Her dress will be designed by Vera Wang.
But there's a "something old" she probably doesn't want following her down the aisle: her relationship with Reggie Bush. Though she and the NFL star split for good in 2010, their coupling came up last month when reports emerged that Bush is dating Kardashian doppelganger Melissa Molinaro.
Kardashian is clearly aware of the similarities between her and the bodacious brunette. In July, she filed a lawsuit against Old Navy for using Molinaro in a commercial, claiming the clothing company attempted to dupe consumers into thinking Kardashian was affiliated with the brand.
Of course, Kardashian has bigger things to worry about: Like, will she get the $1,600 Scandinavian-designed teapot she listed on her wedding registry?
