Prince William: 'My George Will Be Bouncing Around Like a Rabbit' on Christmas

— -- Like most toddlers, the third in line to the British throne is inquisitive and energetic -- keeping his parents busy.

Prince George will be celebrating a visit from Santa in a few weeks and Prince William told an aspiring journalist the toddler can't wait.

"My George will be bouncing around like a rabbit. If I get any sleep on Christmas Eve it'll be good," he told Sophie Kichou in a recent interview at Kensington Palace.

George has finally figured out what Christmas is all about and apparently couldn't be more excited, according to his daddy.

"So that will be two children, one who suddenly appreciates Christmas, which could be quite challenging, but I'm looking forward to it," he told Kichou.

Prince William opened up to the aspiring journalist to whom he made a commitment four years ago when she was homeless participating in William’s charity, Centrepoint. She told him in 2011 she wanted to be a journalist and William promised her an interview.

William is patron of the charity, a role he took over from his mother Princess Diana. Over the years he has done what he could to raise awareness for homelessness, including sleeping on the street one night.

Prince William -- who is always guarded with journalists, especially when it comes to his family -- told the 24-year-old Kichou: "We'll go to church as a family on Christmas Day as we always do."

The family will spend Christmas at their Norfolk home, Anmer Hall.

The royal family traditionally attends Christmas Day services at the Sandringham Church on the Queen's estate where Princess Charlotte was christened this past July.

"Then we'll watch George try to tackle his presents as he tries to unwrap them," Prince William said. "It's a very different experience at Christmas having a family of your own."

Kate was also asked about her children on her recent trip to raise mental health awareness with Prince William.

Charlotte is now 7 months and George is nearly 3. Kate said she expects George will be starting to think about Christmas soon.

"They are doing well, thanks. Charlotte is getting bigger and getting along well with her noisy big brother," she said.

So what do you get a little prince and princess for Christmas?

The prince apparently likes anything with wheels and has developed a love of helicopters like his father and Uncle Harry, who are both pilots.

The third in line has been known to greet Harry in the landing area on the Kensington Palace grounds.

Kate told well-wishers on her visit to Wales that George loves helicopters, but whenever he starts asking her questions about them she "tells him to ask Daddy as she has no idea."

According to The Sun newspaper, George has been riding around his miniature John Deere toy tractor at his country home, Anmer Hall, where his parents have been enjoying country life away from London. The $150 yellow and green plastic truck has pedals to motor around -- and even has a dirt-digger bucket.

We've seen Prince George playing in the sand on the beach with Grandma Carole Middleton, at the petting zoo with his mother and we know Kate has been teaching him to swim in the Buckingham Palace pool.

According to his grandfather, George has also developed a love of the outdoors. Prince Charles told Sky News in a recent interview: "Fortunately he's one of those characters, I think, who naturally, instinctively likes to be outside."

He added: "It's very interesting. I'm intrigued to see if it lasts. But he loves being outside, which is encouraging."

Charlotte in the latest photos taken by her mother was delighted with a stuffed animal she'd been given.

She is wearing a $32 dress by high-end Spanish retailer M&H believed to have been given to her by her Spanish nanny, Maria Turrion Borrallo. The dress is so popular it is temporarily sold out.
