Rachel Zoe on Dressing Melania Trump: 'I Don't Know'
The fashion designer added, "I would’ve loved to dress Michelle Obama."

If people are wondering when designers started parting on either side of the aisle, celebrity stylist and fashion designer Rachel Zoe said, they just haven't been paying attention.
"I mean, clearly; Michelle Obama is on the cover of Vogue, right?" Zoe asked. "We're fashion people, but we're people with very strong opinions and thoughts and theories and political views."
So whether Zoe, 45, and others would dress incoming first lady Melania Trump is a question that has been dividing fashion designers lately.
Designer Sophie Theallet said last month in an open letter that she wouldn't dress the former model, while Tom Ford said on "The View" last week that he declined to dress Trump when asked years ago, adding that "she's not necessarily my image."
As for Zoe, "I don’t know. I don’t really think about it," she told ABC News Monday night at the W Hotel's "What She Said" panel event. "I really don’t."
She added, "I would’ve loved to dress Michelle Obama. I think that’s the dream."
Zoe also said she would jump at the chance to dress Kate Middleton. "I love her, love her, love her," she said in her signature repetitive affection that fans obsessed over on her hit TV series, "The Rachel Zoe Project." It went off the air in 2013.
The stylist, who dresses celebrities such as Sofia Vergara and Jennifer Lawrence, said that along with creating a media company, The Zoe Report, and a new subscription fashion box, Box of Style, she recently started a new way fans can keep up with her because "people have been asking us for the show," Zoe said, "for the last five years."
It's called "Real Life With Rachel" and she hopes it'll hold fans over until she can come up with a new docs-series concept. But one thing is certain: Fans won't see a "Rachel Zoe Project" part two.
"We’re going to do another show. We’re just not going to do that show. My life is different," Zoe said. "I have children. I don’t want a camera on their face every day.
"My children are my universe," she added emphatically. "I put them to bed every night. I’m up at 5:45 or 6 a.m. every single morning. I make their lunch. I do everything and that’s important to me."
