Selma Blair Is 'Filled With Shame' Over Airplane Incident

The actress was reportedly removed from a flight on Monday.

The actress released a statement to Vanity Fair in which she explained that she was under the influence at the time.

As a result, she added, she said things that she didn't mean.

“I made a big mistake yesterday. After a lovely trip with my son and his Dad, I mixed alcohol with medication, and that caused me to black out and led me to say and do things that I deeply regret. My son was with his Dad asleep with his headphones on, so there is that saving grace," Blair said. "I take this very seriously, and I apologize to all of the passengers and crew that I disturbed and am thankful to all of the people who helped me in the aftermath. I am a flawed human being who makes mistakes and am filled with shame over this incident. I am truly very sorry.”

Blair, 43, had been in Mexico, celebrating Father's Day with her 4-year-old, Arthur, and her ex, fashion designer Jason Bleick. According to unconfirmed reports, after causing a scene on the flight home, she was removed from the plane on a stretcher and hospitalized. The actress' rep has not yet responded to requests for comment by ABC News.
