A few of the top moments were:

1. Seth Meyer's Performance as Host: The self-deprecating late-night host kicked things off on a light note ("This year we're doing the Emmys on a Monday night in August, which if I understand television, means the Emmys are about to get canceled!" he said), setting the stage for a funny, charming two hours. From his funny banter with former "Saturday Night Live" co-stars Amy Poehler and Andy Samberg, to his sharp jokes about the state of network TV, Meyers won over the audience and viewers at home alike. In an unofficial poll of ABC News readers, 51 percent responded that the late night host did a great job, while 31 percent called his performance "OK."

2. Julia Louis-Dreyfus's Smooch with Bryan Cranston: What a lucky woman: "Veep" star Julia Louis-Dreyfus won the Emmy for best actress in a comedy series and got a kiss from best actor in a drama series Bryan Cranston to boot! Cranston, who once played her love interest in "Seinfeld," grabbed the actress on her way to the stage and passionately kissed her on the lips, causing Louis-Dreyfus to later quip, "You were on Seinfeld."

3. An Emotional Win for "The Normal Heart": When "The Normal Heart" was announced as the best TV movie, Larry Kramer, the author of the semi-autobiographical play on which the movie was based, received a standing ovation, along with the movie's cast and crew. Ryan Murphy, the director of the HBO TV film, told the audience that they "did this for him," before calling to action younger viewers, asking that they become "Larry Kramers" themselves.

4. Billy Crystal's Heartfelt Tribute to Robin Williams: When Robin Williams died, his friend Billy Crystal tweeted, "No words." He found a few for the Emmys, and honored his late friend with a touching tribute, complete with personal stories of Williams. "As genius as he was on stage, he was the greatest friend you could imagine," he said. "It's very hard to talk about him in the past, he was so present in all our lives. ... For 40 years he was the brightest star in the comedy galaxy."

5. A Huge Finish for "Breaking Bad": Not a bad way to go out: "Breaking Bad" capped off its final season with six Emmy wins, including acting nods for Bryan Cranston, Aaron Paul and Anna Gunn. The cherry on top? An Emmy for best drama series. So long, Walter White, and thanks.
