Recipes: 'Mad Men' Inspired Cocktails
Recipes for "Mad Men" cocktails.
Oct. 4, 2010 -- Ever yearn to travel back to a time gone by, when men wore three-piece suits and skinny ties, when women wore femme frocks and scarlet lipstick?
There's a drink for that (a few, actually). And of course, there's a show that plays off that whole aesthetic: "Mad Men," the uber popular AMC drama about 1960s-era advertising executives, starring Jon Hamm, Christina Hendricks, and Elizabeth Moss, among others.
In addition to inspiring updated takes on early '60s fashion, "Mad Men" has trigged a cocktail renaissance: wave goodbye to the "Sex and the City" induced Cosmopolitan craze, welcome "Mad Men's" whiskey-based classic cocktails.
Below, recipes for three classic "Mad Men"-era cocktails, courtesy of Glenfiddich brand ambassador and whiskey maven Heather Greene. Watch the accompanying video for tips on how to make them.
