Picture Perfect Spring Looks for Less
Getting the perfect look for spring doesn't have to cost a fortune.
March 18, 2009 -- Glamour magazine executive editor at large Suze Yalof Schwartz shows you how to bring style into spring without straining your finances.
Her mission was to find breathable, packable, wearable and most importantly, fashionable outfits for when it pours outside. This season, she said, rainwear is about classics with a twist and of course, recession-friendly.
The Trench Coat
What Burberry originally created as a raincoat for the British army in 1914 has now become a fashion staple among women. The women's trench coat is something women love and the different emotions it evokes.
The trench is a classic because it's both professional and sophisticated. Pair it with some classic riding boots and a leopard umbrella to give it a twist.

This is the shape of the season and one that can swing both preppy and punk. It's a preppy look thanks to a silver Lesportsac cross-body bag, which promises to keep your cell and BlackBerry dry.
The rainbow umbrella makes even the gloomiest day something to smile about and the Crocs go from frumpy to fabulous. The silver ballerinas slim-fitting sling backs are not only incredibly comfortable, but they are incredibly affordable and stimulate blood flow.

The stow-away hood with built-in visor and dry-off finish makes sure that the rain never soaks in. It's also machine washable. Paired with a mod 1960s clear umbrella, it will never clash with your outfit.
The umbrella's shape allows you to carry it low with unobstructed views, and sturdy vinyl makes it difficult to break.
