— -- Question: What is inflammatory breast cancer?

Answer: Inflammatory breast cancer occurs in about 4 to 5 percent of all breast cancers in which there is redness on the skin. There is a texture change in the skin called "peau d'orange" which is the 'orange peel,' which has the small dimpling -- which is from the cancer filling the lymphatics of the skin. Usually, inflammatory breast cancer is a much more serious type of breast cancer, but it is still one that can be highly treated and cured.
