Aug. 29, 2009 -- Sen. Edward M. Kennedy fought a more than year-long battle with brain cancer and, according to his son, lived longer with the disease than his doctors expected. After his death Tuesday at age 77 in Hyannis Port, Massachusetts, two days of laying in repose at the Kennedy Library in Boston and a memorial service there Friday evening, he will have a funeral mass in Boston Saturday morning.

Kennedy will be buried at Arlington National Cemetery, close to his older brothers President John F. Kennedy and Sen. Robert F. Kennedy, who are also buried there.
