Hillary Clinton Slams Trump's RNC Nomination Speech: 'We Can't Let Him Become President'

— -- Hillary Clinton took to Twitter Thursday night following Donald Trump's acceptance of the GOP presidential nomination at the RNC, slamming his speech and encouraging her supporters to donate to her campaign.

In particular, Clinton took issue with Trump's apparent embrace of the LGBTQ community. "As your President, I will do everything in my power to protect our LGBTQ citizens from the violence and oppression of a hateful foreign ideology, believe me," Trump said.

Clinton tweeted, "Here's how the Republican ticket would 'protect' LGBT Americans #RNCinCLE," along with a chart that read, "The Trump Pence ticket," followed by a series of checked-off campaign issues, including opposition to gay marriage, and support of religious discrimination laws and so-called conversion therapy.

Clinton also slammed Trump's proclamation, "I'm with you," writing, "Not included: women, African Americans, LGBT people, Muslims, Latinos, immigrants..."

One of her final tweets of the evening was, "This is real—Donald Trump just accepted the @GOP nomination. RT if you agree: We can't let him become president."

Meanwhile, Hillary for America chair John Podesta released the following statement on Trump’s acceptance speech:

"Tonight, Donald Trump painted a dark picture of an America in decline. And his answer – more fear, more division, more anger, more hate -- was yet another reminder that he is temperamentally unfit and totally unqualified to be President of the United States."

Podesta continued, "He offered no real solutions to help working families get ahead or to keep our country safe, just more prejudice and paranoia. America is better than this. America is better than Donald Trump. Next week in Philadelphia, Democrats will focus on issues, not anger. We'll offer a positive vision for the future based on lifting America up, not tearing Americans down."
