Obama Administration Gets in on 'Straight Outta' Meme
The Obama administration is using the popular meme to sell the Iran deal.
-- The White House just made the “Straight Outta ____” meme jump the shark.
You may have already seen it on Instagram or Twitter: people taking the “Straight Outta Compton” logo from the new N.W.A. biopic of the same name, resulting in silly phrases like, “Straight Outta Treats,” or “Straight Outta Toilet Paper.”
But the White House took it to a new level, tweeting from its @TheIranDeal handle, which is dedicated to selling the, you guessed it, Iran deal:
The irony: Even if the deal were to be fully implemented, Iran would likely never be "straight outta uranium." Under the parameters of the agreement negotiated with the P5+1 international partners, Iran can continue to enrich uranium, but only for peaceful purposes.
The administration says the goal was to reach younger demographics on their native platforms to talk about the Iran deal. But judging by some of the comments, it looks like the Internet wasn't having it.
Some were just plain over it.
