Jameis Winston Celebrates NFL Draft With Crab Legs

The quarterback chose a humorous way to recognize No. 1 selection.

With crab legs.

The image calls back to Winston’s receiving a civil citation in 2014, cited for stealing $32 worth of seafood from a Publix grocery store. He initially said that it was a mistake, saying he left the store “without paying for one of my items.”

But during a recent appearance on ESPN, Winston claimed he did not steal the crab legs, saying that they were given to him by a grocery store employee.

Winston thanked the Buccaneers for drafting him Thursday.

"Actions speak so much louder than words, or what they may have read or what they may have heard," he told reporters. "It's about your actions. Whatever is in the past is in the past. I look forward to gaining everyone's trust."

Winston’s joining the Buccaneers won’t necessarily bring an end to talk about the seafood matter. Publix Super Markets has been the Buccaneers’ official supermarket since 2007.
