Madison Bumgarner Talks About the Awkward Chevy Guy, Missing Truck

— -- Upstaged by a Chevy regional manager who had trouble with his lines at the World Series MVP presentation, San Francisco Giants pitcher Madison Bumgarner said today that he "didn't know what was going on."

Sportscaster Dan Patrick asked Bumgarner, "Did you come close to laughing when you were getting the truck when you won the MVP, when Chevrolet, you know, the big guy's there all nervous?"

"Yeah, with all due respect to him, I didn't know what was going on. There's no doubt about it, he was pretty nervous for what he was doing," Bumgarner said on Patrick's radio show on Monday morning.

Chevrolet's Kansas City Zone Manager Rikk Wilde, a Royals fan, fumbled his lines during the ceremony. Wilde used the now-viral phrase "technology and stuff" to describe the 2015 Chevy Colorado, as he handed the pitcher the keys.

"I'm sure if he had a do-over again, he'd do it a little bit different," Bumgarner told Patrick.

The pitcher was asked about the whereabouts of the truck he was awarded.

"You know what? I was just talking about that actually. I don't have it right now. It's been so busy the last few days. I was just talking to my agent about tracking that thing down and seeing if we could get it sent to the house and have some fun with it. But as of right now, no, I do not have it and I really don't know where it's at," Bumgarner said on the radio show.

Bumgarner's publicist did not respond to a request for comment.

And what about the ball from the last pitch?

"I think [Giants third baseman] Pablo [Sandoval] still has it. He kept it," Bumgarner said, explaining that he was okay with that.
