Mark Zuckerberg Speaks Out Against 'Building Walls' at Facebook's Annual F8 Conference
Zuckerberg may have made thinly-veiled reference to Donald Trump at F8 event.
-- Mark Zuckerberg didn't call out Donald Trump by name, but some people think the Facebook CEO may have taken a thinly-veiled swing at the Republican front-runner today during the social network's annual F8 developer's conference in San Francisco.
"As I look around and as I travel around the world, I'm starting to see people and nations turning inward, against this idea of a connected world and a global community. I hear fearful voices calling for building walls and distancing people they label as others," he said. "For blocking free expression, for slowing immigration, reducing trade, and in some cases around the world even cutting access to the internet."
Zuckerberg shared his vision for Facebook's next decade and spoke about the four billion people without internet access, a cause close to the billionaire's heart.
"Instead of building walls, we can help build bridges," he said. "Instead of dividing people, we can connect people."
