April 22, 2012 -- intro: A stylish new makeover for T-Mobile's spokeswoman, a new rumor that the next iPhone may be made of a substance called "liquidmetal," and Spotify's partnership with Coke made for an exciting week in tech. But some special gadgets also arrived in the world on this fine spring week.
For Apple users, we have the only iPhone case that can stop bullets, and the first iPhone compatible smart watch. On the Android side, we have a way to control a DSLR camera with an Android phone and a beautiful new smartphone from HTC. There's something for everyone in our top picks from the gadget world this week.
quicklist: 1title: Pebble Smart Watchtext:This week the Pebble Smart Watch made waves in the fairly new pond of smart watches. The Pebble is the first iPhone compatible smart watch and features an e-paper display and a backlight, making the display readable in both bright sunlight and darkness. Like other smart watches, it allows you to pair it to your phone via Bluetooth to check texts, calls, and social media alerts right on your wrist. And it can be synced with your smartphone using the Pebble app. You can order one now for $115 on Kickstarter; it will be shipping in September. (Pebble)media: 16176700
quicklist: 2title: Logitech Ultrathin Keyboard Covertext: One of the biggest downsides to the iPad is how difficult it is to use a touchscreen for typing up emails or expense reports. Plenty of attachable keyboards have tried to solve this problem, but the Logitech Ultrathin Keyboard Cover is one of the most elegant solutions we've come across. It is a Bluetooth keyboard that doubles as an aluminum screen cover, with light magnets that connect it to the iPad's screen. If used for two hours per day, according to Logitech, a full charge will last you six whole months. It is available this week for $99. (Logitech)media: 16176585
