Deflategate: Brady Was Actually a Good Student - Despite Quip
Joked that he hadn't read the "Deflategate" report because it was complicated.
-- Tom Brady said during what appeared to be an attempt to deflect the "Deflategate" scandal Thursday night that he had not had time to read a 243-page report that claims it was "probable" that he knew his team was using balls inflated to a lower-than-standard pressure.
Asked if he was a slow reader, he joked that his "athletic career is better than my academic career," but a look at his pre-NFL resume shows that he was an above-average student.
Even though the Patriots quarterback said that he "usually only read[s] X's and O's," he has had to deal with tougher material in the past.
According to a post-college resume that he shared on Facebook in September as part of a Throwback Thursday message, he graduated from the University of Michigan with a bachelor's degree in general studies and had a 3.3 GPA.
He received honors in his first three years and focused his studies in business and psychology.
He was also busy off the field and out of the classroom, with internships at Merrill Lynch and a summer job in custom home construction.
In the post, Brady joked that he "really thought I was going to need this after the 5th round," referring to the NFL draft where he was picked in the sixth round.
