— -- 1. Officer in Bergdahl Hearing Recommends No Jail Time, His Lawyers Say

The Army officer who presided over Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl's preliminary hearing last month has recommended that he should not face any jail time or a punitive discharge for charges of desertion and misbehavior before the enemy, the sergeant's lawyers said.

According to Bergdahl's defense team, the officer has also recommended that Bergdahl's case should proceed to a lower level court martial that limits a maximum penalty for convictions to a year in prison. A four star general will review the officer’s recommendation and determine how Bergdahl's case will be handled.

Bergdahl's civilian attorney Eugene Fidell confirmed to ABC News that Lt. Col. Mark Visger "recommended that the charges be referred to a special court-martial and that a punitive discharge and confinement would be inappropriate given all the circumstances."

With Capitol Hill in turmoil over who will be the next speaker of the House, one Congressman is standing up to say he is the right person for the job.

Rep. Jason Chaffetz, R-Utah, told Martha Raddatz today on ABC News' "This Week" he believes he has what it takes to lead a Congress rife with dysfunction and in need of a speaker after Ohio Rep. John Boehner's sudden resignation.

"We need a fresh start. We have a gulf and a divide that needs to be bridged. We need a speaker, I think, who takes the communications realm and drives the discussion in this country about what it is we're standing for and what it is we're trying to do," said the four-term Republican and Chair of the House Oversight Committee.

3. President Obama Weighs in on Kanye West 2020 Presidential Bid

Kanye West for the White House in 2020 strikes President Obama as "strange," even "cray."

But Obama playfully told a crowd of Democratic donors in San Francisco Saturday at a fundraiser headlined by West that he has some important advice to share with the would-be candidate.

"Kanye is thinking about running... for Speaker of the House!" Obama joked, alluding to the recent upheaval on Capitol Hill. "It couldn't get any stranger. But in case Kanye is serious about this whole POTUS thing –- or as he calls it, 'peezy' –- I do have some advice for him."

4. When Hill Met Bill: the Clintons Celebrate Their 40th Anniversary

Just days before the first Democratic debate, the Clintons celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary.

Bill and Hillary met in 1970 at Yale University after multiple encounters in the school's library. A few days after meeting, the couple went on their first date.

Hillary Clinton, in a 2003 interview, told ABC News' Barbara Walters their meeting was an "immediate attraction."

5. 'Daredevil' Introduces Bernthal's Punisher at NYCC

We didn't see the classic skull uniform that only the Punisher wears so well, but "Daredevil" did give fans a look at Jon Bernthal's Frank Castle during New York Comic Con.

The assumption is Castle won't become Punisher until later in the season anyway, but in a season 2 teaser, we get a look at the former "Walking Dead" star becoming the vigilante Marvel fans know and love.

Ryan Penagos, executive editorial director at Marvel Digital, was live-tweeting the NYCC "Daredevil" panel and described what Netflix released in the clip.
