Archie creators, 'Riverdale' fans bow down to Prince Harry and Meghan's royal baby Archie
Congratulations have been pouring in from around the world.
Congratulations have been pouring in from around the world for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, following the birth of their baby boy who they named Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor.
But after the baby's name was announced on Wednesday, some of the standout social reactions came from Archie comics, the popular spin-off series, "Riverdale" and fans of the franchises.
"I'm baby," the official Twitter account for the long-running comic book posted almost immediately after the name was announced.
The hit show "Riverdale" posted, "Proud to be Archie," with a GIF of its star KJ Apa.
The series creator Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa posted: "Best crossover ever, Riverdale goes royal."
Could Prince Harry, one of the world's most famous redheads, have named his son after one of the most famous red-haired comic book characters? Could Meghan be a "Riverdale" fan? Twitter weighed in.
"Yep. That was my first thought when I heard the name! They must be fans," one fan posted.
"If this little boy has red hair when he grow up I will not survive because I will think to our Archie 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 I can't process," another wrote.
"MY DUCHESS IS A RIVERDALE FAN!!!!!!!!! COME ON, ARCHIE!!!" posted another.
"But Jughead still wears the crown," another correctly pointed out.
