New York Fashion Week just got an eco-chic update thanks to Christian Siriano.

For the designer's fall 2021 fashion show, he teamed up with digital consignment shop thredUP to send two secondhand looks down the runway.

The season four "Project Runway" winner said he was inspired to rethink his recent collection based on the ups and downs of this past year and how people will dress post-pandemic.

"I chose to put thrifted looks from thredUP on the runway, because I believe reuse will define the future of our industry," Siriano said. "I hope my collection inspires other designers to create garments that can be worn again and again."

The first upcycled piece in the show was a pink cocktail dress that featured a deep-V plunging neckline and a beautiful maxi silhouette. The second item was a stylish black coat that included fringe and frayed accents.

Both items were placed on thredUP's website and were available for purchase but quickly sold out. All proceeds are being donated to the Circular Fashion Fund, which is a nonprofit organization with a mission to identify, vet and distribute funds to organizations and individuals committed to a more sustainable future.

"Ten years ago, we could never have imagined that an iconic industry event like New York Fashion Week would proudly display used clothes alongside new," Erin Wallace, thredUP vice president of integrated marketing, said in a statement. "We are thrilled to see a barrier-breaking designer like Christian use his runway to illustrate the importance of reuse. This paves the way for more designers to embrace their past designs and promote a more sustainable future for fashion."

Siriano's partnership with thredUP follows recent news of the Council of Fashion Designers of America designer creating thredUp's first Thrift Logo, which was made to inspire others to extend the lives of clothes and fight fashion waste. This logo was also featured on the thrifted looks at his recent show.
