The couple met in Nashville and have been dating for a while, according to People magazine. Jewel's friend Nancy O'Dell confirmed as much when she posted a photo of the lovebirds on Facebook. \"Love running in to my pal Jewel on the field. Loved her from 1st time I met her & now she's dating a Clemson fella, Charlie Whitehurst= awesome!\"
So, just who is the new guy in Jewel's life? Here are five things you need to know about Whitehurst.
1. He's younger
Charles David Whitehurst was born Aug. 6, 1982, in Green Bay, Wisconsin, making him 33.
2. He's played for four different teams
After playing quarterback for Clemson in South Carolina, Whitehurst was picked up by the San Diego Chargers in the third round of the 2006 NFL Draft. Four years later he was acquired by the Seattle Seahawks, but didn't stay long. After two years, he went back to the Chargers for two years, before switching to the Tennessee Titans. Midway through the 2015 season, he joined the Colts and is currently on the injured reserve list.
3. He loves the outdoors
Born in Wisconsin and raised in Georgia, Whitehurst has cultivated a love of the outdoors. When he's not on the football field, he's often out fishing or hunting birds. And he isn't shy about showing off his spoils.
4. He can rock a man bun
Whitehurst is known for his long mane, which he often pulls up into a man bun.
He's even taken some ribbing for it.
But he doesn't seem to mind, and he's certainly not ashamed of showing off his hairy body either.
5. He's a deep thinker
Whitehurst may have been attracted to Jewel's mind as much as her good looks. \"A good conversation is hard to find but it's worth the search,\" he told Nashville Lifestyles last year. He also thinks true beauty rests inside. \"A beautiful person is someone who thinks for themselves and doesn't let society hold them back,\" he said.
