Teacher’s Aide Arrested After Video of Attack Emerges
School officials said the adult is a teacher's aide.
— -- Police in Milwaukee have launched an investigation after a video was released on social media that appears to show a high school employee pushing a 14-year-old to the floor.
Around 10:50 a.m. Wednesday, a Bay View High School teacher aide allegedly pushed the teen to the floor and held him there, according to the Milwaukee Police Department.
In the video, the man appears to tackle a student while yelling expletives. The student lands on a desk before hitting the ground.
The 39-year-old staff member was arrested and charged with physical abuse of a child, police said. The student was transported to the hospital to be treated for minor injuries.
Milwaukee Public Schools released a statement saying school administrators and police had been notified of the incident. The school staff member was "removed from the classroom" and faces disciplinary action, including possible termination, MPS said.
Officials did not release the identities of the teacher's aide or student.
