— -- Caitlyn Jenner is the first of the Jenner/Kardashian clan to speak out about what happened to Kim Kardashian West earlier this week.

The former Olympian took to Instagram to share her relief that her former stepdaughter, who was robbed at gunpoint in Paris early Monday morning, is safe.

Kardashian West's mother, sisters and brother have not yet released statements about the incident, nor has the reality TV star herself.

"Love my girl! After hearing the full story, I'm so thankful she's okay," Jenner wrote. "It's a reminder for us all to be careful in the uncertainty of this world."

The reality TV star, 35, was held up by "two armed masked men dressed as police officers," her representative told ABC News. They tied her up, locked her in a bathroom and stole millions of dollars of jewelry. More recently, Paris Police spokeswoman Johanna Primevert told The Associated Press that Kardashian West's social media presence could be one reason she was targeted.

"Clearly when you have a star like Kim Kardashian who has, I think, more than 48 million followers on Twitter ... I think this could have happened abroad just as easily as in Paris," she said. "It was really the celebrity who was targeted, with possessions that had been seen and noticed via social media, and it was these goods that the attackers targeted."

On Monday afternoon, Kardashian West joined her husband, Kanye West, in New York City. The night before, the rapper cut short a concert, citing a "family emergency."
