Final 'Hunger Games' Film Makes $100 Million in Opening Weekend

— -- The fourth and final "Hunger Games" movie had a big debut over the weekend -- though not as big as the openings for the previous films in the series.

"The Hunger Games: Mockingjay -- Part 2" earned an estimated $101 million from Friday through Sunday, according to Rentrack. It's the smallest-grossing open of any movie in the "Hunger Games" series.

The second movie in the franchise, "Catching Fire," had the most successful debut, collecting $158.1 million in 2013. Last year's "Mockingjay -- Part 1" scored $121.9 million.

The previous week's box office champ, the James Bond movie "Spectre," fell to second place, raising $14.6 million.

The R-rated holiday comedy "The Night Before," starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Seth Rogen and Anthony Mackie, premiered in the fourth spot, earning $10.1 million.
