Mariah Carey and James Packer Have Not Ended their Engagement
Singer's rep addresses rumors that she and the Australian billionaire split.
— -- Mariah Carey and James Packer are still engaged despite multiple reports that the couple have split.
The singer's rep told "Entertainment Tonight" that Carey and Packer had a fight during their vacation in Greece last month, and she has not seen him since.
"The fight was not because of any cheating allegations or excessive spending by Mariah," the rep said, while noting that Packer, a 49-year-old billionaire, is "one of the most successful businessmen in the world."
"They are trying to work it out," Carey's rep added. "Right now, they’re not sure if they will stay together."
She said the couple plan to release an official statement once they've determined their future.
A rep for Packer told ABC News, "This is simply untrue."
Carey, 46, and Packer, an Australian casino mogul, got engaged in January after dating for nearly a year. According to Vogue, he proposed with a massive 35-carat diamond ring, designed by Wilfredo Rosado.
They first met in 2015 in Aspen at the premiere of "Hercules."
"We were talking and laughing and people were getting mad at us and stuff like that. So we hit it off," Carey told "The Steve Harvey Show" last November.
But the pair have not been spotted together in weeks, and Carey last posted a picture of the two of them about a month ago.
More recently, she posted a photo with ex-husband Nick Cannon and their 4-year-old twins, Monroe and Moroccan, celebrating Halloween early.
This would be Carey and Packer's third marriage. She was previously married to Cannon and music executive Tommy Mottola, while Packer was previously married to model Jodhi Meares and singer Erica Baxter, with whom he has three children -- Indigo, 7, Jackson, 5, and Emmanuelle, 3.
Carey is currently in the midst of her Sweet Sweet Fantasy Tour. Her E! docuseries, "Mariah's World," will debut Dec. 4, with Packer scheduled to appear in several episodes.
