Why Sofia Vergara Didn't Bring Her Husband to the Oscars

— -- Sofia Vergara is flying solo at the Oscars tonight.

Vergara stepped out on the red carpet without her new husband, Joe Manganiello. But that's only because he's away filming, the "Modern Family" star told Ryan Seacrest.

Vergara told Seacrest her better half left this morning to film a new project named "Six."

Manganiello and Vergara wed in Florida in November after a whirlwind romance. They were introduced by Vergara's "Modern Family" co-star Jesse Tyler Ferguson.

Vergara, who is wearing a navy-blue Marchesa gown, will be presenting at tonight's awards show.

The Oscars begin at 8:30 p.m. ET on ABC.
