They went from slap-shot to slapstick.

In a move that is classic Will Ferrell, the comedic legend decided to call a hockey game as his alter ego Ron Burgundy.

No, we aren't joking. He literally went into the booth during a Kings game for Fox Sports and called the game alongside Alex Faust and Jim Fox.

After buttering up the man who has "many leather bound books," the two hosts allowed Burgundy to explain why he was late, talk about drinking beer and more.

In typical Burgundy fashion, he mispronounced the "Staples Center," talked about locker rooms with former pro athletes and screamed over and over, "shot on goal!"

There are so many clips of this and they are all pure gold.

"Baxter is wonderful, thank you for asking," he said when some other commentators asked about his famed dog.

"PUT THAT BABY TO BED WITHOUT A DIAPER," another tweet read about a soon-to-be classic line from Burgundy.

There was even a "kiss cam" moment.

Please don't ever change Will Ferrell.
