Taylor Swift drops live version, remix of hit song 'Cruel Summer': Listen now
The song, from Swift's 2019 album, "Lover," has enjoyed a recent resurgence.
It may be fall, but for Taylor Swift it's still a "Cruel Summer."
The 33-year-old pop superstar released two new versions of the hit song -- off her 2019 album, "Lover" -- on Wednesday night to celebrate the success of her concert film "TAYLOR SWIFT | THE ERAS TOUR," and the reaction to it from fans.
"What a truly mind blowing thing you've turned The Eras Tour Concert Film into," she began her Instagram post. "I've been watching videos of you guys in the theaters dancing and prancing and recreating choreography, creating inside jokes, casting spells, getting engaged, and just generally creating the exact type of joyful chaos we're known for."
"One of my favorite things you've done was when you supported Cruel Summer SO much, I ended up starting The Eras Tour show with it," Swift continued. "For old times' sake, I'm releasing the live audio from the tour so we can all shriek it in the comfort of our homes and cars PLUS a brand new remix by [LP Giobbi]."
Swift concluded her post, writing, "Thank you, so much, forever, wow, just thank you!!!"
Despite being released four years ago, "Cruel Summer" has found a second life throughout the Eras Tour. It reached its peak position on the Billboard Hot 100 chart this year, snagging the No. 3 spot, and is currently still in the top 10.
